bell pepper, garlic, cumin, Mexican oregano, smoked paprika, and a kiss of chipotle. No
corn fillers. Just add water (and optional 1 lb beef or venison), simmer, and serve four
hearty bowls that taste slow-simmered.
Brown 1 pound of ground beef in a 2-quart stock pot. Open the can, remove the masa
packet, then add 5 cups of water and the contents of the can to the ground beef. Bring
to a boil, then cover and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring every few minutes. Mix the
masa packet with ½ cup of water, then add it to the chili. Simmer for five more minutes,
then serve.
