        Just Add Water! A comfort-bright classic: tomato and lime simmered with smoky chile,
cumin, and oregano, given silky body with stone-ground masa. We fold in black beans,
sweet corn, and bell peppers for real substance. Optionally, finish with avocado,
crumbled tortilla chips, queso fresco, and a squeeze of lime. Add one cup of cooked,
shredded chicken for a hearty meal if desired.
Directions: Open the can and remove the packet of masa harina. In a 2-quart soup pan,
add 5 cups of water and the remaining contents of the can. Bring to a boil, then reduce
to a simmer for 15 minutes. Mix the masa harina with ½ cup of water, then stir it into the
soup and continue to simmer for an additional 5 minutes. To add chicken, 1 cup of
cooked, shredded chicken when adding masa harina and simmer for 10 minutes.
